Laboral vs This is a Magazine

Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación, in Asturias, Spain will be opening this weekend. Donnachie/Simionato from This is (not) a magazine have been invited to participate in the inauguration programme of exhibitions, which include:

Gameworld which "explores video games as an art form and presents contemporary art related to video games. Via these dual lines of investigation, the exhibition explores video and computer games as entertainment, art form, agent of innovation, and cultural force," and Feedback which "explores two sub-themes related to "reactive" art: one exploring the concept of feedback ranging from artistic creation based on instructions (coded language) to art proposed by open systems reacting to the outside or to its own inputs or global connections; and the other tackling the concept of light and the moving image from early examples of kinetic creation and Op art, to the reactive formulations of television and cinema. The show will include works by the following artists: Manfred Mohr, Vera Molnar, Sol Lewitt, Tinguely, Mary Flanagan, Hans Haake, Lygia Clark, Marcel Duchamp, Moholy-Nagy or Jenny Marketou, among others."
